St Joseph College Class of 79 has donated three laptops to the school on Monday.
Receiving the laptops worth P15 000, St Joseph’s College School Head, Ms Constance Male said the gesture came at an opportune time when the school was in need of laptops.
Ms Male said it was time to embrace the fourth industrial revolution as teaching methods were advancing and becoming digital.
She added that the laptops would be placed at the computer lab and would be available for use by both pupils and teachers.
“I strongly believe that these laptops will improve our students’ marks as the use of ICT will now be infused in their learning,” she said.
Alumni, Ms Gloria Lebitla indicated that they saw it fit to heed the school’s call for laptops so as to make teaching and learning easier for them.
She said she was impressed by the constant good academic performance that St Joseph’s College was synonymous with and that her group felt honoured to contribute to the legacy of the school.
Former minister and MP for Shoshong, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele said he had fond memories of his previous school and as the alumni, they would continue to do more to support St Joseph’s College in all aspects to reach greater heights.
“We are appreciative of the teachers who spend hours to better students’ lives and we are glad that the school’s motto ‘Per Aspera Ad Astra’; through difficulties to the stars, still stands even today,” he said. ENDS
