SADC-PF is an institution of SADC formally established on September 8, 1997, in terms of Article 9(2) of the SADC Treaty.
It is a regional inter-parliamentary body currently composed of 15 member Parliaments in the SADC region including Angola. Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini. Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
“SADC PF serves as a platform for SADC Parliamentarians as elected representatives of the people to deliberate and work on issues of common concern and interest to Southern Africa,” states the release.
The release further states that the forum’s vision is to be a flag bearer of democratisation and socio-economic development.
The mission is focused on promoting and facilitating processes necessary to enhance oversight, legislative and representational roles of Parliament at both national and regional levels in involving Parliaments and citizens in the affairs of the SADC Region. Ends
