Ghanzi brigade is reportedly grappling with high numbers of students from unaccredited programmes.
When presenting the District Development Committee report to Ghanzi East Sub-council, recently, the Assistant District Officer (Development), Mr Kagiso Monnawatsie revealed that the learning institution had over 400 students on waiting list.
He noted that admission for the new intake was done in January, admitting students from unaccredited programmes, adding that the institution also had a shortage of qualified lecturers.
Mr Monnawatsie revealed that brigade students were engaged in the construction of a caravan slab at Roads Department and building of an ablution block at Old Ghanzi Primary Hospital.
Meanwhile, Ghanzi Principal education officer , Mr Montshusi Morake told the sub-council that D’kar and New Xade Out of School Education and Training (OSET) operations were momentarily suspended due employer/employee disputes over contractual obligations.
He however assured the councillors that recruitment of new officers was underway and the operations would resume as soon as the process was concluded. Ends
