Assistant Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Buti Billy has commended Francistown City Council (FCC) and stakeholders for their commitment to implement projects aimed at developing the community in and around the city.
Mr Billy, who is also a an MP for Francistown East, said this during his recent tour of projects in his constituency.
The Assistant Minister particularly appreciated VDCs for monitoring projects well and working hand in hand with the city council.
The town clerk, Mr Lopang Pulesaid only a few of projects were not yet complete.
He, however ,promised that such projects would be completed soon as the council had deployed a strong team of employees to supervise the works. Mr Pule said since the inception of the funding of constituency projects during the 2017/18 financial year by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, FCC had managed to start and successfully complete majority of the works.
That being the case, the town clerk relayed that the road to implementation was never without challenges such as poor execution of projects by some contractors leading to termination of contracts and having to re-hire new ones. ENDS
