Funeral Service Group (FSG) Limited has partnered with Orange Botswana to provide a payment platform, Orange money, for clients to pay their policies.

Speaking during the launch of the partnership on Tuesday, FSG regional manager south, Mr Modisaotsile Moletsana said the initiative was created to provide clients with convenience and flexibility.

“This is making our products and services relevant in today’s market and true to our mandate of providing maximum value to our customers,” he said.

Clients, he said, would be able to use the platform from the comfort of their homes, workplaces or from any place of their choice.

For his part, Orange Money director for commercial and operations, Mr Onalethata Motswagole said they were grateful for the possibilities provided by the technology, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the pandemic had shown that the world needed change, noting that information technology had to be employed in daily processes. “Through orange money we would meet the requirements of the new normal,” he said.

The need for the platform, he said, was greater than ever as people needed to action daily activities with limited movement.

Mr Motswagole also said they were proud to have partnered with FSG to introduce the service to the nation in an inclusive, convenient and accessible way.

He said they were committed to bridging the financial gap and that it was possible through the partnership with FSG. “We are contributing to the payment landscape through a solution that we believe is smart, simple and more convenient,” he added.

During the lockdown, he said companies found it difficult to collect premiums due to movement restrictions. With the new platform he said companies would be assured that their clients would be able to pay their monthly obligations.FSG’s head of sales, Ms Tebogo Moribame–Setiko said the partnership was significant as it was geared towards the digitisation of their payment platform.

She added that the platform would provide convenience to their clients. Ms Moribame–Setiko also highlighted that the partnership would allow FSG and Orange money to leverage their stance to contribute positively to the lives of Batswana, particularly those without bank accounts. “They will be able to pay from the convenience of their phones wherever they are,” she added.

She said the partnership demonstrated the commitment of FSG to the social and economic development of Botswana, adding that the company had been concerned about the limited mediums of payment available.ends
