 Police in Tutume are investigating an incident in which a 24-year-old woman hanged herself on Monday.

Tutume Police Station Commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala said they received a report on Monday night from the deceased’s family member informing them about the incident.

Superintendent Halahala said they found the deceased and took her body to Tutume Primary Hospital where she was certified dead.

He said the deceased did not leave a note explaining her actions.

Supt Halahala stated that the number of suicide cases in Tutume were worrisome, and that the incident was the second in a month and committed by people of the same age bracket.

He said the station had recorded four suicide cases from January to date, and appealed to the community to talk to young people to be open about their problems and not resort to taking their lives.

Superintendent Halahala further advised the community to seek assistance from them when faced with challenges.ENDS
