Serowe Admin Authority launches nyeletsa pothole initiative

30 May 2021

Serowe Administrative Authority has come up with an initiative dubbed operation Nyeletsa potholes to address the pothole problem within Serowe internal roads and along the A14 road.

Roads engineer, Mr Moabi Matlhomola said in an interview that during the two weeks period, the council would try to fix about 90 per cent of the potholes.

He said they have assembled two teams that started working on the potholes on May 28 along the road from Serowe College junction leading up to Makolojane Primary School junction.

He said since the roads were badly damaged while some had gone beyond their lifespan, the council was trying to work with what had remained of them.

Mr Matlhomola highlighted that their department had about P400 000 which was divided and shared amongst maintenance of roads, patching of roads, drainage and vegetation control.

He added that P100 000 was used to source the premix for road patching.

Serowe Administrative Authority senior assistant council secretary, Mr Mogorosi Kokoro encouraged the team to continue working with determination in order to bring developments to the village.

He also pleaded with the team to work with caution and to follow COVID-19 protocols. ends
