Troika pledges solidarity

SADC chairperson, Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi, Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation chair, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi, Malawi President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera, and President of Zanzibar Mr Hussein Mwinyi representing Tanzania attended the Extraordinary Double Troika Summit in Mozambique yesterday.
SADC reaffirmed its solidarity with Mozambique and its continued efforts in addressing terrorism and ensuring lasting peace and security in the country. The summit noted progress in finding lasting solutions to terrorism and acts of violence in Mozambique's Cabo Delgado region and has considered a regional response. Another summit will convene in Mozambique on June 29. President Masisi and his entourage return home today. ends
