Botswana receives two more COVID-19 vaccine consignments

Government of Botswana will receive 38 400 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on May 29 and 19 890 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on June 3.
A media advisory from the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Gaborone, dated May 27, says the procurement of the two vaccines, which was done through the COVAX facility, was facilitated by UNICEF Botswana.
“Communication on how and when the vaccine will be rolled out will be made once all the logistics and formalities that have to be conducted after vaccine arrival, have been concluded”, the advisory states.
Botswana started vaccinating its elderly citizens on March 26 with AstraZeneca and the rollout has so far covered over 121 000 people aged 60 and above. Ends
