18 May 2021
Police in Tutume are investigating an incident in which two people were found dead at Phanga fields near Sebina.
In an interview yesterday, Tutume police station commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala, said the deceased were found by a neighbour on Friday.
The duo, man and woman, was found with severe head injuries.
He appealed to members of the public to help them with information that might lead to arrest of an illegal immigrant, who could assist with investigations on these deaths.
Superintendent Halahala said acting upon the neighbour’s report, they rushed to the scene and indeed found the deceased in a bad state and took the bodies to Tutume hospital where they were certified dead.
The station commander stated that their investigations had so far revealed that the deceased man was also an illegal immigrant, who was employed in a farm together with the one they were looking for.
The employer was the deceased woman’s sister,.
He said the owner of the farm, who is hospitalised at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in Francistown, had sent her sister to deliver food to their disabled brother, who also stayed at the farm.
Superintendent Halahala thus appealed to the public to come forth with information, which could help them solve the case. ENDS
