Officers residents partnership key

03 May 2021

Mmathethe/Molapowabojang MP, Dr Edwin Dikoloti, has implored Digawana leadership to work hand in hand with public servants to develop the constituency.

Speaking during a consultative meet with the leadership in Digawana recently, he said such partnership would accord the two parties an opportunity to close gaps in service delivery.

Dr Dikoloti, who is also the Minister of Health and Wellness, said such a move would help dikgosi to be abreast with developmental and social issues.

He said there was need to change approach towards  the servicing of constituents, arguing that there was no coherence in service delivery.

He spoke of the need for reciprocal and sequential interdependence of service providers in that the output of one department became the input of another, hence necessitating interactions.

He encouraged the village leadership to take their position to ensure their structures were sound enough to facilitate and fast track development.

Dr Dikoloti encouraged village structures to partner with public service employees who were chief implementers of projects and policies, noting such would tighten screws in operations and close up performance gaps.

He advised Village Extension Team (VET) and Village Development Committee (VDC) to have a smooth transition that would allow incoming members to have access to records and minutes of the office.

The MP pledged 50 chickens, chicken feed and feeding equipment to young farmers’ committee representative Mr Ndala Ntwalang as a way of uplifting livelihoods and supporting smart agriculture practices and approaches for a sustained increase of agricultural production. ENDS
