Queue system efficient

The pilot customised automated queue management system (QFlo) project has proved to be highly effective and efficient in managing customer queues, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Thulagano Segokgo has said.
Officially launching the QFlo number +267 73-164-771 in Gaborone recently, Minister Segokgo said the project also had the potential to improve the Department of Road Transport and Safety’s (DRTS) operational efficiency.
He described the project, under piloting by DRTS, as a great milestone.
With Qflo, customer queuing time was significantly reduced and congestion in service halls eliminated which made it most ideal in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic where health protocols such as social distancing had to be observed, said Mr Segokgo.
“Through implementation of this project, we remain hopeful that we shall witness a significant reduction in the number of customer complaints. Customers would receive timely updates, alerts and notifications about the available services provided by the department,” he said.
The system, he said, had many benefits as it allowed customers to book for services online from the comfort of their homes using social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook.
It had the ability to analyse customer data which could be used for making timely and informed decisions, Mr Segokgo said.
He said QFlo signified his ministry’s embracement of the 4th Industrial Revolution agenda which was an appropriate response to the quest to transform service delivery and strive for satisfaction.
For his part, DRTS director, Mr Bokhutlo Modukanele said the system would address challenges besieging the department such as long queues, the unsafe practice of customers having to line up in the wee hours of the morning and congestion in service halls contrary to COVID-19 protocols.
Mr Modukanele advised the public to familiarise themselves with the system because of its efficiency and the fact that customers could use it in the convenience of their homes and offices.
The project, which commenced on February 23, is expected to be completed by end of next month. Ends
