Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development says government is committed to deliver on its promises despite challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Tumiso Rakgare said this after visiting the project site for the Tonota mini stadium recently and appreciated its progress.
Rakgare said the mini stadium was one of the projects suggested by Mr Thapelo Olopeng and was long due hence its commencement.
On the other hand, senior assistant council secretary, Onthatile Molelu said the stadium would be built on a 12-hectare plot.
Molelu explained that the project was put on hold following queries launched by the two previous land owners, adding the dispute had since been solved.
“Tendering was awarded in three phases and now companies awarded the project are preparing all their necessary equipment to commence after ground breaking around May this year,” he said. Ends
