President visits two bereaved Maun families
18 Apr 2021
President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi on Thursday visited the homesteads of the late Reverend Kgosi Ramokwena and Mr Sebati Sebati in Maun to offer condolences to their families.
Seventy-one-year-old Kgosi Ramokwena, of Boseja Ward, died on February 28 reportedly due to COVID-19 related complications.
Dr Masisi said though he could not attend the funeral, consoling families of Kgosi Ramokwena’s status belatedly was binding.
He said although he was in Maun on other business, he saw it fit to visit the Ramokwena family and offer his condolences because it was always painful to lose a loved one.
Dr Masisi emphasised that COVID-19 was real and deadly.
He therefore advised observance of health protocols at all times.
At Mr Sebati’s residence, President Masisi said he had known about the old man’s illness disclosing that he used to call to wish him well.
He said he could not attend the former Maun West councillor’s funeral due to other commitments but saw it fit to visit the family after the fact.
Ms Emang Mosiame, the wife to Mr Sebati, expressed appreciation for the President’s gesture saying it was a sign of compassion and love. ENDS
