Broadway Toyota-Mahalapye has donated two hand washing basins worth P15 000, a Canon printer worth more than P10 000 and a P3 000 fuel voucher to Airstrip Clinic.
Speaking at a donation event on Friday, Mahalapye District Health Management Team (DHMT) head, Dr Maxwell Mungisi, commended Broadway Toyota for its donation, saying the move was an indication that Mahalapye community was working in harmony towards achieving a common goal of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Through this donation, Broadway Toyota has shown that the fight against COVID-19 is not only the Mahalapye DHMT’s responsibility, but that of other stakeholders like the corporate world as part of its corporate social responsibility,” said Dr Mungisi.
When handing over the donation, Broadway Toyota-Mahalapye human resource manager, Mr Joseph Tamari, said through their corporate social responsibility they found it fit to give back to Mahalapye community.
“Mahalapye supports our business and therefore it is befitting that we also give back to you. But, I want to mention that we need more people like Airstrip Clinic staff in our community, who care about the needs of the society, because this donation comes as a result of them reaching out to our company and making us aware of their clinic’s needs. That alone shows how much you care about the community. Again, the reception and customer service you always display at this clinic is also commendable,” he said.
Broadway Toyota adopted Airstrip Clinic in 2017 and since then the two have had a conducive relationship.
Principal registered nurse, Ms Kagiso Nkgokga, thanked Broadway Toyota for the donation, saying the clinic would now have an alternative facility for cleaning hands for customers who preferred using water and soap to clean their hands.
“This is a jovial moment for us because we are also going to be printing our documents here at the clinic, which will relief us from moving up and down seeking printing services. This will also help us to dedicate more time to our customers,” she said.
Tshikinyega ward councilor, Mr Orelebile Baatweng thanked Broadway Toyota for its donation, saying government alone could not afford to satisfy demands of communities. ENDS
