Relations upgrade mooted

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi met his Zambia counterpart, Mr Edgar Lungu during the former’s working visit to Zambia on Wednesday. President Masisi expressed appreciation for the mutually beneficial relations that the two countries enjoyed since the days of Sir Seretse Khama and Dr Kenneth Kaunda. The Presidents agreed to elevate the two countries’ diplomatic relations to Bi-National Commission. They committed to expediting the conclusion of all issues necessary for the operationalisation of the Kazungula bridge and establishment of the Kazungula Bridge Authority. President Masisi also introduced Botswana’s candidate for the SADC executive secretary position, Mr Elias Magosi. President Masisi who was accompanied by Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Lemogang Kwape and senior government officials also visited Zimbabwe. ends
