Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Development, Mr Tumiso Rakgare has urged the senior national football team, The Zebra, to work hard and win their encounter against the warriors of Zimbabwe.

“Each player will go home with P20 000 as an appreciation of your good work should you win the encounter this evening,” he said.

Minister Rakgare said during his pep talk to the boys this morning at Cresta Marang hotel that the ministry had offered P650 000 fr the team to share among themselves, should they qualify for the finals.The duel, which is an AFCON qualifier, is scheduled to take place this afternoon at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in the city of Francistown.

He said the team had always put up a good fight against opponents and thereby hoisted the national flag high, as such, he expressed optimism that with so much talent, the team had all it took to send the opposition back home empty-handed.

He said the players should keep in mind that the entire nation and indeed the President, Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi and First Lady Neo Masisi were fully behind the them even in absentia.

“The leadership of the Ministry has already come together to find a way to ensure that you feel its support beyond just words,” he said.
