Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Thulagano Segokgo says there are several bridges/culverts along main roads which need reconstruction.

Mr Segokgo said some of them were those along the Oodi/Modipane road near Three Kopi and the culvert between the Sikwane/Mmathubudukwane road, and that they were an inconvenience to road users.

He said his ministry was monitoring the bridges/culverts as part of their maintainance plan, adding that their long-term plan was to replace steel or armco culverts with the more durable concrete type that was reinforced.

He said the delay in replacing them was mainly due to lack or limited funding. Mochudi East Member of Parliament, Mr Mabuse Pule had asked the minister if he was aware that there were several bridges/culverts along main roads which needed reconstruction such as those along the Oodi/Modipane road near Three Kopi and the culvert between Sikwane/Mmathubudukwane road, and if so, what plans were in place to reconstruct them as they posed danger to road users. ends
