Organisation donates to Maunatlala JSS

Vaswisu Charity Organisation recently donated liquid soap, sanitisers and mutton clothes to Maunatlala Junior Secondary School to help with challenges posed by COVID-19.
Vaswisu is a non-profit making organisation that aims to improve pupils and youth literacy skills by providing resources and facilities, a mandate that informed the donation to ensure learning was not disturbed. The school recorded more than 100 cases of COVID-19.
The charity organisations president and Maunatlala junior alumni, Mr Emmanuel Ikgopoleng said they were responding to social medial reports that the school was affected.
“We are here to get first hand information on how the school has been affected and what we can do to assist. We could not come empty handed,” Mr Ikgopoleng said.
The school head, Mr Kebame Montwedi said COVID-19 had affected everyone and that he was humbled by the gesture.
He said the school’s first case of COVID-19 was registered in February and that it prompted the testing of the entire class, noting that more boys than girls tested positive.
Mr Montwedi said the school was doing everything it could to handle the situation.
He appealed to the nation to donate masks since they were lacking at the school.
He also complained about pupils from Seolwane who did not want to stay at the hostels and misbehaved after school,
He asked the charity organisation to intervene by motivating and encouraging pupils to cooperate with school authorities because the hostels were meant to benefit them. ENDS
