Old Apostolic Church donates house

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Edwin Dikoloti has commended the Old Apostolic Church for playing an active role in changing people’s lives for the better.
The church has built a house worth over P100 000 for Ms Keboletswe Sekoanelo in Lorolwane and also provided furniture worth over P10 000.Speaking at the handing over of the house on Saturday, Dr Dikoloti showered the church with praises for contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
Dr Dikoloti, who is also Member of Parliament for Mmathethe/Molapowabojang, said the church was known for partaking in charitable works as well as helping people affected by natural disasters.
He said the church, through their donation, had heeded President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi’s call requesting that people should lend a helping hand in the fight against COVID-19.
He noted that the church had donated P50 000 to the COVID-19 relief fund as well as assist with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other equipment worth over P100 000.
Dr Dikoloti said the country’s economy faced an unprecedented challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that it had weakened the global demand for diamonds, which were the country’s source of revenue. He lauded the church for partnering with government in improving the livelihoods of Batswana. ,
He also noted that the church had built 37 houses countrywide, adding that from 2000 the church had contributed over P280 000 to charitable organisations.
He said the gesture was in line with government’s goal of ensuring that no one was left behind in developments.
He challenged the nation to emulate the Old Apostolic Church. He also urged all to observe COVID-19 protocols in order to safeguard lives, pointing out that such would accord the country an opportunity for economic recovery.ENDS
