Funds insufficient for reconstruction
21 Mar 2021
The Ministry of Transport and Communications is aware that the resealing and road marking of the Paje-Mabeleapudi bitumen road only went as far as the entry to Mabeleapudi, says Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Thulagano Segokgo.
He said at the time when the resealing and road marking were done, the funds which were availed to the project were insufficient to cover the 2.2 km section of the road that passed through Mabeleapudi to Tshimoyapula as it required complete reconstruction.
Mr Segokgo said the ministry would consider the remained section of the road for reconstruction in the next financial year once funds permitted.
The Member of Parliament for Serowe North, Mr Baratiwa Mathoothe had asked the minister if he was aware that the resealing project of the Paje-Mabeleapudi bitumen road only went as far as the entry to Mabeleapudi. He also asked why the resealing was not carried out on the internal road leading to the kgotla and primary school as that could have subsequently led to the easy connection with the Mabeleapudi-Tshimoyapula-Serule road project. ends
