Paje Missing Person Found Alive At Moele Farms

A 20-year-old mentally challenged man of Paje, in the Central District, who went missing on the March 11 on his way back from Motshwane lands, has been found alive.

In an interview on Wednesday, Serowe Police Station commander, Superintendent Poloko Oteng confirmed that they embarked on a search, which included the dog support team from Palapye, the aircraft support from Francistown and members of Paje community.

He said the young man was found alive on Monday, at Moele farms, along the Khama Rhino Sanctuary fence, near Paje.

He said the man was rushed to the hospital for medical examination and was now fully recovered from the trauma and safe at home.

Superintendent Oteng thanked Paje community for their active participation in the search for their fellow community member.

Meanwhile, the station commander started that while on the search for the young man, they discovered a farm in Moele lands, which had plants that were suspected to be marijuana.

A 29-year-old male Zimbabwean national, who is a worker at the farm, has been arrested on suspicion of having planted the 23 suspected marijuana  plants.

Superintendent Oteng stated that the owner of the farm was later charged for harbouring and employing a non-citizen without a work permit.

He said investigations were still ongoing, and that the plants had been taken for laboratory testing, while the suspect was in police custody.

He pleaded with Batswana to refrain from employing non-citizens, especially those with no passports and work permits. Ends
