Keolopile Pride of Mmaphula junior school

Palapye Administration Authority (PAA), Chairperson, Ms Khumoyame Lekoko has lauded former Mmaphula Junior Secondary School pupil, Lone Keolopile for her excellent JSE results.
Ms Lekoko told a meritorious award ceremony attendees on Thursday that Lone, who got a merit and her compatriots who got As, made them proud.
She also extended her gratitude to Mmaphula JSS administration for their part in the performance.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament, Mr Onnetse Ramogapi said the achievement of a merit and four As at Mmaphula Junior Secondary School should inspire all stakeholders being the pupils, teachers, parents and government.
Mr Ramogapi said achieving goals was based on determination, setting targets and how to arrive there.
He encouraged all pupils to emulate the shining Lone, who made it in a public school.
Mmaphula Junior Secondary School head, Mr Leano Mphotlho said even though the nation was faced with the challenges of COVID-19, he was glad that the school had put Palapye on the map.
He added that despite the trauma affecting the learners, they remained focused to achieve the excellent result.
Mmaphula Junior Secondary School deputy school head, Mr Charles Modise highlighted that the 2019 cohort did not have a single A, but the 2020 one managed to register a merit and four As.
For her part, Lone said she was grateful for the support she got from the staff and her parents and encouraged other pupils to focus, read their books and be determined in their studies.
One of those who got As, Bonno Bosigo encouraged fellow pupils to refrain from bad company, saying bad company corrupted good character and advised them to choose wise and good friends.
An English teacher, Mr Siamisang Oitsile advised the pupils to always draw strength from God as everything was possible with Him.
He said the youth’s lives were full of challenges, but despite them, pupils should achieve their goals.
“It takes discipline for students to be celebrated like this,” Mr Oitsile added.
The school appreciated the achievers with certificates, money and other tokens. ENDS
