Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele says the appointment of Senior Chief Representative for Tutume is still under consideration.

Mr Modukanele said this when answering a question in Parliament on Monday from the Nkange Member of Parliament, Dr Never Tshabang.

Mr Modukanele said the contract renewal for Magapatona Headman of Arbitration was under review while the contracts for Mabuwe Headman of Arbitration and that of Nkange village Headman of Record were renewed and they both effected on February 05.

As for the appointment of Goshwe Headman of Records, Mr Modukanele said the move had been delayed. “Goshwe community petitioned the process and the outcome of the consultations held to designate a Headman of Record.

A re-consultation process will be undertaken immediately after the upliftment of the COVID-19 restrictions,” said Mr Modukanele.

He said the filing of the position of Headman of Record for Changate was still being processed. Dr Tshabang had asked the minister to update Parliament on when the appointment of the Senior Tribal Authority in Tutume would be done.

The Nkange legislator had also requested an update on contract renewals for Magapatona and Mabuwe Headmen of Arbitration and Nkange Headman of Record.

He further enquired on the appointments of Goshwe and Changate Headmen of Records and Thini Headman of Arbitration.  Ends
