Mr & Miss Mahalapye Central 2020 Team has donated food hampers, toiletries and clothes to two needy families at Dilaene ward in Mahalapye.

Handing over the donation to the families of Ms Kenaope Ramaphane and Ms Goitseone Mpateng on Saturday, Phuthego Express managing director, Mr Phuthego Phuthego said he found it necessary to support the initiative organised by the reigning Mr & Miss Mahalapye Central 2020 Team.

Mr Phuthego, who owns Mahalapye/Shoshong route buses, sponsors the Mr & Miss Mahalapye pageant with transport.

He promised continued support to the initiative.

Mr & Miss Mahalapye Central organiser, Ms Gaonyafale Phuti said the donation was made possible through support and sponsorship of Phuthego Express and Flower Inn Executive Guest House.

Ms Phuti pleaded with Mahalapye business community and leadership to also extend support to her team.

“As Mahalapye natives, we want to see our village develop further. 

This is why we have found it fitting to partake in charity initiatives that contribute to improving the lives of other people in the community. 

This is not the end, we intend to continue and, therefore, plead with the business community in Mahalapye to support us in any form,” she added.

The reigning Miss Mahalapye Central, Ms Koketso Gulubane said the donation was organised through The Act of Kindness project, which formed part of the individual projects they had been tasked with to give back to the community.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many families in different ways. So, we embarked on this project to be exemplary to upcoming beauty queens and kings to leave a mark in the community,” she said. Ends
