SKL Group of Camps has donated medical equipment worth P153 320 to Ngami Regional Health Management Team (RHMT).
When receiving the donation that comprised of 15 Nato steel stretchers and 25 manual resuscitators, Ngami RHMT acting coordinator Dr Sandra Maripe-Ebutswe said it would help manage patients, as COVID-19 cases continued to rise.
Dr Maripe-Ebutswe observed that the manual resuscitators would be a great help, especially in emergency situations. She said the Ngami RHMT currently had 368 active cases and had registered 49 deaths to date.
She observed that the country had started receiving COVID-19 vaccines, but stressed that it was still important for members of the public to continue observing social distancing and proper use of masks.
The SKL Group of Camps CEO, Mr Reaboka Mbulawa said the company prided itself in assisting in challenges affecting the community, hence this time chose to donate medical equipment to Ngami RHMT.
He said the company was challenged after realising that many people had succumbed to COVID-19 in the district.
Mr Mbulawa said four of their five camps were not operating, which resulted with some employees being home, although still getting their salaries.
Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital superintendent, Dr Lebogang Mokotedi appreciated the donation and said the resuscitators would help, especially with the more than 200 patients, who were on home isolation.
Matlapana councillor, Mr Kobamelo Baikgodisi appreciated the donation, saying it would go a long way in assisting the Ngami RHMT, which had challenges of resources. ENDS
