In its quest to encourage healthy living among Batswana, the Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) will this Saturday, October 5 host the health challenge exposition.

In an interview AFA Sales and Marketing Officer Mr Thuso Setsetse said the health challenge and exposition is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility. He said the company hosts the exposition as a way of encouraging Batswana and inculcate in them a culture of physical activity towards a healthy living. “The healthy challenge exposition is a way of supporting and promoting healthy lifestyles as well as encouraging Batswana to develop patterns of regular exercise in their lives”, he said.

This year, BPOMAS has partnered with Jack’s Gym which will rope in its instructors as well as its equipment. The exposition, Mr Setsetse said tries to cater for most Batswana across the country as they tailored for 1 000 Batswana from both North and South areas. He said registration began on September 23 and was free.

“This is a sign that Batswana are eager to exercise and lead healthy lives, as they have always grabbed this opportunity with eager”, he said.

The exposition which is titled ‘North Vs South’, he said will have 500 registered participants from the South and the other 500 from the North. The challenge and exposition which started in 2010 has always had Francistown as its northern base, but this time around, Mr Setsetse said has relocated to Palapye International Convention Center at the Majestic Five Hotel.

He explained that the relocation was necessitated by centrality of Palapye in the Northern part of Botswana, thus easily accessible to all around those areas, he said. Registered participants, Mr Setsetse said will walk away with a gym starter pack that carries a gym bag, towel, t–shirt and a water bottle. He said this year, the exposition has been revamped as it now has invited all companies that focus and deals on health businesses to exhibit their products and services. ENDS
