Council expects mini stadium December

The construction of the Moshupa mini stadium is underway and the project is expected to be delivered in December.
Acting Moshupa Sub council chairperson, Obakeng Modisaotsile told the ongoing council meeting recently.
Modisaotsile said the stadium has an office block, change rooms, ablution blocks, kiosks, fencing, boundary wall and ticket booth. He noted that the budget for the mini stadium was P6.5 million.
He said the tender for construction of the turf was at evaluation stage.
Modisaotsile added that the council was yet to prepare an expression of interest for the erection of stands.
He did not mention when the actual construction started or when the project was expected to be rounded off.
On other issues, he said the construction of Mogaung Ward minimal land servicing project worth about P6.7 million was complete and still on defects liability period.
In an interview, the sub council economic planner, Maikano Madigele said construction was done in two phases. The first started in November 2019 and was completed October 2020 within time and budget.
The phase comprised the office block, boundary wall, ticket booth, kiosks and fence, she said.
She further said the second phase which involved the construction of turf and erection of stands was at evaluation stage, adding it would be completed before end of December 2021. ENDS
