The Ministry of Basic Education (MoBE) has completed selection process for this year’s Form 4s.

A statement from the ministry states that pupils are expected to report to their respective schools on March 16 and those admitted as boarders would report March 15.

“Information on all pupils’ placed will be in all secondary schools and regional education offices countrywide. 

The ministry has introduced a short messaging services (SMS) notification, accessible from all the three local mobile cellular phone service providers and pupils are encouraged to also check their admissions at senior schools in their catchment areas in addition to the use of SMS,” the statement continues.

To access pupils placement via SMS, they are advised to compose the message as follows:

Step 1:- Form 4 (space) centre number (space) candidate number (space) candidate surname, e.g. Form4 JC0101 0005 Malepa

Step 2:- Send message to 16688

Step 3:- You will then receive information about your placement.

According to the statement, criterion used for placement was based on catchment areas and the need to balance school enrolments.

It further explains that that puipils’ transfers will be done at school and regional level and that due to COVID-19, all enquiries on placement shall be done electronically to avoid overcrowding in the offices.
