759 benefit from LIMID

Parliament has been informed that 759 people benefited from the Livestock Management Infrastructure Development (LIMID) in Molepolole in the last five years.The Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Ms Beauty Manake, said this when responding to a question in Parliament.

Ms Manake said from the 759 beneficiaries, 504 were provided with small stock, 160 were given Tswana chickens and 95 assisted with animal husbandry at the tune of P8.3 million.She said nationwide, 26 449 people had benefited from LIMID, out of which 23 178 received small stock, 1 190 got Tswana chickens, 993 were provided with fodder machines and 282 received water development.

The minister said she was not satisfied and hoped the consolidation of social protection programmes would be helpful.Molepolole North legislator, Mr Oabile Regoeng had questioned the minister to state the number of people who benefitted from the Livestock Management Infrastructure Development in Molepolole in the last five years from (2015 through to 2019). Mr Regoeng also wanted to know how much they got and if the assistant minister was satisfied with the level of the programme uptake countrywide. ends
