Seretse attends regional conference

The Assistant Minister of Finance & Development Planning, Mr Vincent Seretse, is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the Ministerial Session of the African Regional Conference on Population and Development.
A press release from the ministry says the conference that will take place on October 3-4 is held under the theme: Harnessing the Demographic Dividend: the Future We Want for Africa. The purpose of the conference is to validate the Africa Regional Review Report and adopt a common position on the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) beyond 2014.
The Conference will also emphasise the need for state and non-state actors to recommit themselves to fully implement the ICPD Program of Action at national and regional levels.
The release says the outcome of the Regional Conference will serve as a major reference for population and development policies and programmes beyond 2014, and inform the development agenda post 2015 in Africa.
The release states that the Ministerial Session will be preceded by Expert Sessions which will involve national experts, civil society organisations, youth and development partners to discuss different themes pertinent to the Continent’s context.
Minister Seretse will be accompanied by the Minister of Health, officials from the Ministries of Youth, Sport and Culture, Finance and Development Planning, Health, Education and Skills Development, Labour and Home Affairs and two (2) Civil Society Organisations.
The delegationis expected back home on October 5. ENDS
