President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has declared his appreciation of the new ten pula bank note.
Speaking in an interview after buying the new banknote for the first time, President Masisi said he will cherish and treasure the currency.
With the banknote being an integral part the country’s identity, President Masisi said he planned to preserve some for posterity such as through framing.
The new emission of the P10 polymer banknote which bears President Masisi’s portrait was issued into circulation through commercial banks on February 22.
The new banknote also bears the signatures of the current Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Dr Thapelo Matsheka as well of that of Bank of Botswana governor, Mr Moses Pelaelo. Ends
