 Member of Parliament for Kanye South has welcomed government efforts in  providing  a lasting solution to power supply challenges at Nyorosi East ward.

Dr Lemogang Kwape said he was happy that government had acceded to his plea to purchase and install a transformer that would supply the concerned residents with power.

Dr Kwape, who is also Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, said residents were left out due to some technical glitches beyond their control. 

He said some were required to pay huge sums of money to get connected to the national power grid as a result of their location.

Dr Kwape said he was particularly pleased that some entrepreneurs would start using the resource in the comfort of their home to eke out a living.

Area councillor Mr Kefentse Morake, who had accompanied the MP, was also happy about the new development. 

He said residents had been feeling isolated from the rest of the community.

Mr Morake said one was required to pay P126 000 the other P56 000 for connection fees. ends
