Kgosi Sekai Linchwe of Bakgatla has applauded Nutri Feeds Botswana for giving back to the community.
When receiving the donation of office equipment to Mochudi Tribal Administration office on Monday, Kgosi Sekai said the donation was a fulfillment of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
He said the donation, a laptop, projector and television set, would go a long way in helping with the day-to-day activities of the office.
Nutri Feeds general manager, Mr Pieter Visagie, said the company had a robust corporate social responsibility programme, through which it gave back to the community every month.
He stated that the company recently donated training kits for sport clubs and feeds to Pudulogong Rehabilitation Centre.
“We have a special skills development programme where we give interns an opportunity to work with us. If there is an opening after they finish their internship programme, we employ them,” he said.
Mr Visagie also revealed that the company took advantage of all available avenues to constantly train its employees.
He said the depot at Pilane, operates on international quality standards and produces 10 500 tonnes of chicken feed, which accounts for between 60 and 70 percent of all chicken feed in Botswana. “We have a staff compliment of approximately 200 people. Although there are hiccups here and there, our employees are generally good people,” he said. ENDS
