Many health posts across the country have reached the threshold for upgrading to clinics, says Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Edwin Dikoloti, noting the population serviced and statistics. He said his ministry planned to upgrade all health posts to clinics.

He, however, said it would be implemented in a phased approach due to budgetary constraints. He noted that the process of upgrading the Maboane Health Post to a clinic was ongoing.

In line with government’s policy of partnerships, he said the work was undertaken by Debswana and was planned for completion in the next financial year.

Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Friction Leuwe had asked the minister if he was aware that clinics in Takatokwane constituency operated from structures meant for health posts, and if so, when he intended to upgrade the structures to accommodate clinic operations.ends
