No provision to pay traffic fines in installments

The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Kagiso Mmusi says there is no legal provision to pay Traffic fines in installments under the Road Traffic Act.
Responding to a question asked by Tati West, MP Mr Simon Moabi, the minister said paying traffic fines in installments would create difficulties in case management and cause administrative challenges on follow-ups of defaulters when one failed to pay the remaining balance of the fines.
Therefore, Mr Mmusi said the fines and other traffic charges were to be paid once.
Mr Moabi had asked the minister if there was any provision for defaulters to pay traffic fines in installments. ENDS
