22 Dec 2020

Southern Region Deputy Director, Ms Sylvia Kwape has applauded Christ Prophetic Word International Church (CPWIC) congregation for their contribution towards assisting government in combating coronavirus.

She said this when giving a keynote address at the litter prevention campaign which was organized by the church.

CPWIC donated toiletry to Kgodisong Day Care Centre and also gave out waste bins to First National Bank, Kanye Administrative Authority, Water Utilities and Department of Road Transport, Road and Safety.

Ms Kwape therefore implored other churches to emulate CPWIC and embark on similar projects project as a way of assisting the government.

She said the waste bins would go a long way in addressing the challenge of sanitation in the said offices as they experienced an influx of people visiting such offices daily.

She commended the church for having identified the need to assist the companies, as most often well established companies were never offered any assistance and instead people would rather to seek assistance from them.

She acknowledged that through such donation, the church had demonstrated a different motive through helping other rather than seeking help.

Ms Kwape noted the church’s mandate of committing to helping the needy as demonstrated in the past years.

“Let us not tire to do good as through that you shall reap the fruits of your labour. Blessings shall befall those who give with love,” she said.

She indicated going forward, her family was interested in partnering with the church through contribution of P1 000 every year towards the initiative.

For his part, CPWIC founder, Prophet Matthews Sechele the came up with the idea of donating to the said offices as they were dealing with many people.

“As we are living in the times of coronavirus, the advice is for us to use tissues after washing our hands and also when coughing, therefore we felt the need to assist offices which help many people on daily basis,” he said.

Pastor Sechele emphasised the need for all to play a role in preventing the spread of the virus.

He noted that the church had an obligation to help the society, adding that even the constitution of the country also recognised the role of the church.

“Giving as a church is a privilege and we can touch the world through giving,” he said.

Pastor Sechele therefore challenged all to play a role in improving the lives of others, adding that through that the world would be a better place for all who live in it.

He said his congregation has developed a culture of giving over the past years, adding that their mandate was to preach the word of God.

He said giving while serving the lord was essential.

“Greatness is not about what you have, but rather about what you give. As you give blessings will come to your lives,” he said. ENDS
