Jwaneng Galaxy head coach, Sikalame ‘Six’ Keatlholetswe says they have their eyes set firmly on advancing to the next round of the CAF Champions League.

Galaxy welcome Comoros Islands champions’ US De Zilimadjou in the preliminary round tie at Lobatse Sports Complex on Saturday(November 28) at 3pm

The return leg will be played next weekend in the exotic island country.
Keatlholetswe, who recently took over the Galaxy reigns after many years away from coaching at the top level, said in an interview that he was happy with preparations for the match.

“I am happy with the little that we have done.

We had four weeks of preparations.

We could not play enough friendly games because of the coronavirus restrictions, but we understand the situation and the players are ready to fight,” he said.

As part of their preparations, Galaxy defeated Premier League counterparts BDF XI 2-0 last weekend.

That was the only friendly match they had to get ready for their CAF assignment.

Keatlholetswe said their recently signed international players would not be available after missing the deadline for registration. The players are Yali Sangere and Sede Junior from Ivory Coast and Ricardo Lourenco from South Africa. Apart from the trio, he said he had a full strength squad available for the match.

“We do not know too much about our opponents. We could not access any information about what they were doing to prepare for us. So they are a closed book to us, and I hope we are a closed book to them as well,” the coach said.

Galaxy have retained many of their star players from last season and Keatlholetswe said he was happy with the quality of the team.

“We have a good team and I believe we are going to fight to achieve the best we can in any competition,” he said.

Players like Thero Setsile, Thabang Sesinyi, Gift Moyo, Tebogo Sembowa and Lemogang Maswena are likely to lead the Galaxy attack.

Zilimadjou have won the Comoros league on three occasions in 1992/93, 1997/98 and 2019/20 seasons. ENDS
