The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele says due to budgetary constraints, provision of additional classrooms and teachers houses at McCarthy’s Rust Primary School could not be recommended in National Development Plan 11 (NDP 11) and District Development Plan 8 (DDP 8).  

Mr Modukanele told Parliament that  McCarthy’s Rust would be considered along with other schools in the next planning period. “I am aware that there is a challenge of shortage of classrooms and teachers houses at McCarthy’s Rust Primary School,” he said.

Mr Modukanele was answering a question from Kgalagadi South MP, Mr Sam Brooks who had wanted to know if the minister was aware of shortage of classrooms and teachers’ quarters at McCarthy’s Rust Primary School and plans in place to address the situation. ENDS
