Poloka and Mokgenene in the Shoshong constituency will be electrified once the funds are available.  Answering a parliamentary question, the Minister of Minerals Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Mr Lefhoko Moagi said the two villages were without power supply in the constituency.

He said the two villages together with others were planned for electrification in 2020/2021 financial year, but the exercise could not be carried out due to budgetary constraints during this financial year.

Mr Moagi also said he was aware that a kgotla meeting was held at Poloka village in 2019, where his Ministry committed to supply power to the village.

Shoshong MP Mr Aubrey Lesaso had asked the Minister, if he was aware of his predecessor’s commitment to ensure supply of power to Poloka village during a kgotla meeting at Poloka village in 2019. ENDS
