In an effort to improve VTM Football Club status, VTM Security has partnered with the club to assist with transport and improve players’ welfare.
This was said by VTM FC founder and chairperson, Vincent Mafuta during media engagement recently in Gaborone.
He said the security company would help the club with transports needs and players’ welfare needs.
He said it was their intention to build a formidable club, which would be able to compete in the elite league and be able to produce young stars and sell players abroad.
Mafuta further said football development in Botswana had been lacking in growth and they were planning to focus on youth who were looking for career in football.
He also added that they managed to acquire land in Molepolole, where they would build a sports complex with various amenities that would help young footballers develop their football career. VTM Security operations manager, Thapelo Gabanamotse said the security company had made a strategic position in 2017 to support VTM FC as another way of helping the company reach enormous potential. “Any brand in the world that wants to grow will always align itself to football,” he said.
Gabanamotse said they would continue supporting the club as they venture into new horizons and playing a pivotal role in unearthing players’ talent in their journey to realising their premiership goal.
He said the partnership had many benefits, which would be enjoyed by both VTM Security and VTM FC, which include corporate social responsibility, financial and strategic benefits.
Gabanamotse noted that since VTM Security had resources, they would help the team with vehicles, offices and personnel.
He said they would create an attractive image by selecting an appropriate team kit, with good branding to attract followers from all corners of the country.
“Partnership has more benefits to both parties and they will continue to bring the two powerful entities together in future,” he said
In future, he said they would concentrate on generating income to sustain the team so as to be able to compete against well-established clubs in Botswana.
He said he was recently in Dubai, where he found out that Botswana young players had a big market in Dubai.
Meanwhile, VTM FC is expected to launch technical sponsor next week and is currently playing in lower division
The team is currently coached by former Zebras, BDF X1 and Township Rollers player, Otlantshekela Mooketsi. Ends
