Member of Parliament for Kgatleng East, Mr Mabuse Pule has urged members of the public to refrain from selling land, but instead use it for projects that will benefit them and also create employment.

Speaking during a consultative meeting with the Bokaa leadership recently, the area MP, who is also Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, said Bokaa was attractive to a lot of people due to its proximity to the A1 Road and Gaborone, hence the high demand for plots.

Furthermore, Mr Pule urged Bokaa youth to develop passion for small stock farming as it was viable.

Kgosi Sue Mosinyi expressed gratitude to the MP for the forum, saying it had been difficult to hold kgotla meetings due to compliance to the COVID-19 protocols.

He said the village leadership was grateful for the on-going Masama-Mmamashia water treatment project, as it would alleviate the water situation in the village, upon completion.

Kgosi Mosinyi lamented an  increase in criminal activities in the village.

For her part, Borwa Junior Secondary School deputy school head, Ms Thatayotlhe Matswagothata decried the use of marijuana and general misconduct by pupils and requested the village leaders to continue assisting the school with disciplining way-ward pupils. Ms Matswagothata also complained about lack of developments in the school, stating that the number of pupils increased yearly, but developments were slow.

She however appreciated Ipelegeng programme, as its workers ensured that the school premises were clean.

The village social worker, Mr Obone Baisi also bemoaned the four defilement cases recorded since May and encouraged residents to report any gender-based violence cases to the relevant authorities instead of solving them at home.  Ends
