Lobsec Class of 99 assists school

11 Oct 2020

Lobsec Class of 99 Alumni has donated goods valued at P10 000 as assistance to the school during the COVID-19 era.

The 98-membered group made the donation on Friday October 9.

The donation included thermometers and hand sanitisers to fight the disease among the school community, as well as wall clocks, batteries and spray bottles.

The former pupils grouped themselves in order to give back to their former school.

Handing the donation, chairperson of the group Mr Omphile Mosimakoko, encouraged Lobsec pupils to take their studies seriously.

The chairperson, who is an employee of Bank of Botswana, told the pupils that through good academic performance, they would be able to shape a bright future for themselves.

“During our time it was a privilege to attend this school because it produced good results and was the envy of the whole nation.

I encourage you to continue that legacy,” he said.

The deputy school head, Ms Masego Gaorengwe accepted the donation on behalf of the school management.

She expressed happiness towards the support from the former pupils, adding that the sanitisers and thermometers would enhance the school’s adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

“These are valuable items which are in short supply in this school.

This morning we were wondering where we would get more sanitisers,” Ms Gaorengwe said.

She said the items would also come in handy during the examinations because the regulations demand that they should be used.

“We are very happy about what you have done.

We hope you will continue supporting us because this school has a lot of challenges,” said the deputy school head.  ENDS
