The Mmathethe- Molapowabojang MP, Dr Edwin Dikoloti has introduced  hydroponics farming to Digawana residents.

When handing over the hydroponics seedlings as a donation to the Village Development Committee (VDC) and the Dikgosi on Tuesday, Dr Dikoloti said hydroponics farming was beneficial, as it used less water than the traditional field crop watering methods.

He explained that hydroponics was a method of growing plants using mineral nutrients, solutions, without soil.

Dr Dikoloti said he hoped it would help the community, to continue farming and feeding the less privileged as well as generate income especially during the times when rain was scarce.

He advised the VDC to work with the community for the project to bear fruit, adding that he hoped they would supply the schools in the village with vegetables one day.

On other issues, the area MP, who is also the Minister of Health and Wellness, expressed concern about the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country, and urged Digawana residents to take all the necessary precautions to avoid contracting the virus.

He advised them to look out for each other, so that the disease did not spread. ENDS
