Ipelegeng to engage 1891 beneficiaries in Kgatleng

The 2020/21 Ipelegeng programme has to date been rolled out to all 32 wards in the district and beneficiaries have been employed effective September 01, says Kgatleng District Council chairperson Mr Daniel Molokwe.
In his opening speech during Kgatleng full council meeting in Mochudi on September 21, he said a total of 1 891 beneficiaries were expected to be engaged on a monthly basis, further noting that the number was inclusive of 772 cleaners already engaged at various schools in the district.
Mr Molokwe further said on the September 01 to 04, Ipelegeng office embarked on consultations with Village Development Committees (VDC) regarding the resuscitation plan and rolling out of the proposed amendments to the programmes guidelines.
A total of 32 cleaning teams and 31 Green Scorpions across the district will be engaged to carry out 108 projects for the remainder of the financial year.
He said such indicated that a cumulative of 15 714 beneficiaries will be engaged over the duration of the programme.
He said the 2020/21 budget for the programme amounted to P12.9 million.
Mr Molokwe said construction of 4 double storey teachers’ quarters and a toilet block at Lady Mitchison and Kgafela Primary Schools under Economic Stimulus Programme Phase III were almost complete.
He said the project was left with water connection with negotiations ongoing between the contractor, council and Water Utilities Corporation. Ends
