17 Sep 2020
The Member of Parliament for Ramotswa Constituency, Mr Lefoko Moagi has donated a water tank to residents of Metsimaswaane settlement.
Mr Moagi who is also the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security delivered the 10 000 litres tank recently to the area situated in the outskirts of Boatle along Mmankgodi road.
The area MP said the water tank would ensure residents had access to clean water as they had been drawing water from the nearby river which was not safe for human consumption.
Mr Moagi said the water tank was a temporary measure to alleviate the situation and he reassured the residents, who are mostly farmers of his commitment to assist the area to get portable water.
Metsimaswaane resident and deputy chairperson of the Farmers Committee, Ms Popi Sekole expressed appreciation at the MP’s effort in addressing the situation.
She reiterated that the residents of the farming area have been drinking water from the stream in the area, which was a health hazard.
Ms Sekole said there was nothing the farming community could do due to their limited resources, adding that the donation would be of great benefit to the community.
Further, she applauded the MP, whom she had been quick in addressing their problem that had persisted for years. ENDS
