Chairperson urges water conservation
16 Sep 2020
Nominated councillor, Mr Lesedi Phuthego has encouraged the use of grey water in schools and homes.
Councilor Phuthego, who is also the chairperson of Serowe Sub-district council, told the on-going Central District full council meeting on Monday, that grey water could be used to water gardens and other uses, as a way to alleviate water shortage.
He explained that promoting water conservation and management would encourage people to use water wisely, adding that water restrictions were also an effective measure to curb shortage of clean water.
Mr Phuthego appealed to council to repair water tanks and pipes, as most of the water was lost through leakages.
He also expressed concern about leaking pipes in schools, which council failed to attend due to budgetary constraints. ENDS
