Government has no plans to establish Dibete as a service centre. Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Kabo Morwaeng, told Parliament on Monday that an ideal location for a service centre in the southern part of Mahalapye Sub-district was Mookane because of its large population and centrality to the catchment area.

He further said the decision to establish service centres was done by district authorities in collaboration with communities. Shoshong MP, Mr Aubrey Lesaso, had asked the minister if he would consider Dibete as a service centre considering its location at the junction of two major roads of A1 and the Dibete/Machaneng road.

Mr Lesaso suggested that the proposed service centre could provide medical rescue, police, fire, truck as well as cattle artificial insemination services. ENDS
