Ngami DHMT investigates COVID-19 case

Ngami Health Management Team (DHMT) is investigating a  COVID-19 positive case involving an employee of National Development Bank (NDB) in Maun.

According to a press release from North West Emergency Operation Committee, the client was diagnosed after a routine testing while under-going unrelated medical treatment in Gaborone on September 10.

It further states that currently, case investigation is ongoing to establish the possible source of infection which involves contact tracing and testing.

The release indicates that by end of business on Friday, about twelve people were classified as close contacts and were tested and currently they were held in quarantine pending results.

The NDB premises have since been closed for business to allow the completion of case investigation and containment of disease.

The release says the committee will continue updating the community on  the progress of the case and the contact tracing exercise.

The requests the community,  to remain calm and cooperate with the health professionals during the contact tracing exercise, states the release. ENDS
