Selebi Phikwe Rotary Club has donated seven washing basins to all seven health facilities in the town.
Speaking during the handing over at Botshabelo Clinic on September 9, Selebi Phikwe Hospital manager Superintendent Mr Lyster Motlhono commended the rotary club noting that the donation was a response to the government’s appeal for all to offer any kind of contribution in the COVID-19 fight.
He said the donations would not only benefit the people of Selebi Phikwe but all those who accessed services at the health facilities.
For his part, the Selebi Phikwe Rotary Club member Mr Kumbulani Mabena said the club was committed to working with the government in the fight against the pandemic hence the contribution.
He added that by so doing, the chances of the spread of the virus would be highly reduced by keeping clean hands.
Mr Mabena noted that regular washing of hands was one of the protocols recommended to curb the spread of the virus.
The principal nursing officer Ms Kgopolo Sekgwama thanked the rotary club for the donation adding that government alone could not win the fight against COVID-19.
She said there was a need for all to play an effective role. ENDS
